And so it begins...

This past Saturday was an amazing day.  Mom, Dad and I went to Edmonton to the temple where some great friends met us and we had a beautiful day together and said our good-byes...at least for now.

Elder Schiess met us there...it was great to see him again!

To explain this whole thing for those who aren't as familiar, as members of the church, we believe we are all children of our Heavenly Father and therefore use the term of endearment "Sister" before our last names...or "Brother" for the guys.  Now, as missionaries, the women are "Sister 'last name'" and the guys are "Elder 'last name'".  Thus the title of my blog...while serving my mission...
Sisterhood of the Traveling Skirts.

I'm so excited to start this journey.  It will be filled with ups and downs for sure...joys and frustrations...but most importantly, I will be learning great lessons in sacrifice, service, compassion, leadership and love.

My email address for the next year and a half will be:
jenna-rae.heinzlmeir@myldsmail.net

The address to send letters or packages (in case people want to send me cookies...I won't complain!):

Sister Jenna-Rae Heinzlmeir

Saying good-bye is never easy.  Especially when it's your baby.

Love the sign in the background!  Very fitting!  One in a million is right!

Kaitlin made it to say good-bye too.

Last night Jen, Shannon, Lewis and I were up very late packing and repacking and weighing her luggage over and over until it was under the limit...which took a while, lol.  In the meantime, Reggie came downstairs around 11:30 saying he couldn't sleep and then we just forgot he was there...because he found a pillow and blanket and curled up on the floor behind us.  He, along with the other children cried many tears as they said good-bye to their big sister.
